RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE OF WATER METER PARTS FROM BADGER METER, INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF $109,505.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorizing the sole source purchase of water meter parts from Badger Meter, Inc., in the amount of $109,505, payable from 510-500-1940-2410-5227 (Water Fund, Public Works and Utilities, Customer Services, Service, Utility System Mtc Supplies).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the sole source purchase of water meter parts from Badger Meter, Inc., in the amount of $109,505.
The Badger water meter equipment will be used for new installation and direct replacement of existing Badger meters. All the new equipment is compatible with the city of Duluth’s current Automated Meter Reading equipment and meets or exceeds lead levels set by the Safe Drinking Water Act of 2014. These meters are necessary stock to provide timely, uninterrupted service to contractors and to ComfortSystems’ customers while updating obsolete meters per the Utilities Preventative Maintenance Plan.
