Body

CITY PROPOSAL:

WHEREAS, resolution 23-0708R authorized the proper city officials to accept a $100,000 Lake Superior Coastal Program grant from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to support replacement of a beach dune-crossing boardwalk on Minnesota Point; and

 

WHEREAS, the required environmental and cultural reviews have been satisfactorily completed and approved, and additional time is needed to construct the boardwalk.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute the first amendment to the grant agreement, city contract number C24635, with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, substantially in the form attached as Exhibit A, for the Lake Superior Coastal Program Grant supporting replacement of a beach dune-crossing boardwalk on Minnesota Point.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This Resolution authorizes the first amendment, attached as Exhibit A, to the grant agreement, city contract number C24635 with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MNDNR) for the Lake Superior Coastal Program Grant supporting replacement of a beach dune-crossing boardwalk on Minnesota Point.

The amendment incorporates approval of required environmental and cultural reviews of the project site and extends the term of the agreement to December 31, 2025 to provide additional time for the construction of the boardwalk.
