WHEREAS, the city council approved $280,000 as an operating subsidy to The Greater Downtown Council in resolution 25-0805R passed on October 14, 2025 that appropriated the estimated 2026 hotel-motel and food and beverage tourism taxes.

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to amend agreement 24886, substantially in the form of that attached as Exhibit A, with The Greater Downtown Council, for an increase of $44,000 and a new annual amount of $280,000 for the year 2026 and a new total of the three-year agreement of $817,000 (2025-$310,000, 2026-$280,000, 2027-$236,000), payable from 258-030-5436-10; (tourism taxes, finance, tourism tax allocations, business improvement district).

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an amendment to agreement 24886 with The Greater Downtown Council for an increase of tourism tax appropriations in 2026 of $44,000 to support the mission of The Greater Downtown Council.

This amendment increases the funds from $236,000 to $280,000 for calendar year 2026 and does not change the annual amount of $236,000 for calendar year 2027.
