CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute an agreement, substantially the same as attached hereto as Exhibit A, with the city of Hermantown to grant the Hermantown police department limited access to the city of Duluth file server for access to the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) Minnesota License Plate Data File.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute an agreement, substantially the same as attached hereto as Exhibit B, with the BCA to gain access to the BCA Minnesota License Plate Data File.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an agreement with the city of Hermantown granting the Hermantown police department limited access to the city of Duluth’s file server to facilitate access to the BCA Minnesota License Plate Data File. Currently the city of Hermantown police department has a single automated license plate reader, but lacks the technological capacity to access the BCA Minnesota License Plate Data File which is necessary to use the license plate reader. The city of Hermantown has obtained the proper licenses from the BCA and 3M to access the BCA Minnesota License Plate Data File and utilize the license plate reader.
The resolution also authorizes an agreement with the BCA allowing the city of Duluth access to the Minnesota License Plate Data File. The agreement provides that each party is responsible for its own costs for services performed pursuant to the agreement.
