RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH GREAT LAKES AQUARIUM IN THE AMOUNT OF $372,500.

CITY PROPOSAL:
WHEREAS; the city council approved $372,500 as an operating subsidy to Great Lakes Aquarium in resolution 16-0870R passed on December 5, 2016 that appropriated the estimated 2017 hotel-motel and food and beverage tourism taxes.
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, substantially in the form of that attached as Exhibit A, with Great Lakes Aquarium, in an amount not to exceed $372,500, payable from Tourism Taxes Fund 258, Finance 030, Tourism Tax Allocations 5436, Lake Superior Center Authority 08.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an agreement with Great Lakes Aquarium for 2017 in order to support the educational and promotional activities of the Aquarium. This agreement is funded by tourism tax collections.
