RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH, AND ACCEPT $508,949 IN FUNDS FROM YOUTHPRISE TO PROVIDE EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING SERVICES FOR PARTICIPANTS IN THE YOUTHPRISE HOMELESS YOUTH STIPEND PILOT PROGRAM.

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute and implement an agreement, substantially in the form of Exhibit A, with youthprise, and to accept funds in an amount not to exceed $508,949, to provide employment and training services for the youthprise homeless youth stipend pilot program for the period of May 1, 2024 through October 31, 2026. Monies received under this agreement will be deposited into and paid from fund 268 (workforce development), agency 031 (grants division), organization 6220 (youthprise).

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes proper city officials to enter into an agreement with, and accept funds in an amount not to exceed $508,949 from Youthprise to provide employment and training services to participants aged 18 through 24 in the Youthprise Homeless Youth Stipend Pilot Program for the period of May 1, 2024 through October 31, 2026.  The intent is to increase housing stability for young adults by providing youth-directed services needed to invest in their future and thrive. Youth-directed services may include access to health services, financial empowerment, daily living support, housing navigation, career development, and mentorship.  Monies received under this agreement will be deposited into and paid from Fund 268 (workforce development), Agency 031 (grants division), Organization 6220 (Youthprise).  Forty (40) participants are expected to be served during the course of the grant. This request is budgeted through Workforce Development grant funds, and is operational in nature.
