RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to purchase an enclosed service van from I State Truck Center in the amount of $194,142.00. $19,414.20 payable from fund 510-500-1905-5580 (Water, Public Works and utilities, Capital (incl deprec/debt svc) Capital Equipment) $19,414.20 payable from fund 520-500-1905-5580 (Gas, Public Works and utilities, Capital (incl deprec/debt svc) Capital Equipment) $58,242.60 payable from fund 530-500-1905-5580 (Sewer, Public Works and utilities, Capital (incl deprec/debt svc) Capital Equipment) $97,071.00 payable from fund 535-500-1905-5580 5580 (Stormwater, Public Works and utilities, Capital (incl deprec/debt svc) Capital Equipment).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of an enclosed service van that functions as a mobile workshop for cutting and fitting pipe in the field to service and maintain the sanitary sewer system and including includes an onboard air compressor and water system. The new van will replace unit 2850 which is 16 years old. The industry standard replacement lifecycle for this type of vehicle is 12 years.
The Purchasing Division posted the invitation to bid on December 4, 2023 on the City’s website and received two responsive bids by the closing date. City professional staff reviewed and verified the bids and determined that due to the specialized nature of the requested unit, the bid price is within the range of this type of equipment.
