CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to contract with Stack Bros. Mechanical Contractors, Inc. for hot water pipe replacement at the DECC for a total not to exceed $225,240.00, payable from fund 540-920-1499-5530 (steam, Steam Department, steam non-operating, improvements other than buildings).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a contract with Stack Bros, Mechanical Contractors, Inc. for hot water pipe replacement at the DECC for a total not to exceed $225,240.00.
The hot water pipes at this location have been leaking for some time and have begun to harm insulation. The routine patches and quick fixes that have been performed over the years have become too expensive and extensive to maintain, so the decision to replace the hot water pipes was made.
On March 7, 2025, the City’s Purchasing department issued an Invitation for Bid for hot water pipe replacement at and around the DECC. Only one bid was received from Stack Bros. Mechanical Contractors, Inc. for a total not to exceed $225,240.00.
