CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Hanco Utilities, Inc. for the 2024 Excess Flow Valve (EFV), Riser Replacement, Meter Relocation, and Bollard Installation project in the amount of $647,825.00, payable from Gas Utility Fund 520, Department 500 (Public Works & Utilities), Division 1905 (Capital Improvements), Object 5533 (Revenue), City project no. 2219.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution will authorize award of a contract to Hanco Utilities, Inc. in the amount of $647,825.00 for the installation of excess flow valves (EFV) onto existing gas services, replacement of copper risers, relocation of minor gas meters, and installation of bollards to protect gas meters from driveway vehicle traffic, throughout the City of Duluth. Hanco Utilities, Inc. was the lowest responsible bidder of the two companies that responded. The engineer’s estimate was $841,920.00. Payable from Gas Utility Fund 520, Department 500 (Public Works & Utilities), Division 1905 (Capital Improvements), Object 5533 (Revenue), City project no. 2219, requisition no. 24-99287.
