RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO ACCEPT A GRANT FROM THE DULUTH LEGACY ENDOWMENT FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $16,734.

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to accept a grant from the Duluth Legacy Endowment Fund in the amount of $16,734 to fund the following projects, with funds deposited as specified:

1. Parks Maintenance division - Water Safety: $4,234, deposited to fund 205-130-1221-4270.
2. Parks Maintenance division - Rose Garden: $5,000, deposited to fund 205-130-1221-4270.
3. Parks and Recreation division - Recreation Programming: $5,000, deposited to fund 205-130-1219-4270.
4. Planning and Development division - Duluth Flag Project: $2,500, deposited to fund 110-132-1301-4660.

FURTHER RESOLVED that the proper city officials are further authorized to execute grant agreements with the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation, in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A, for the specified grant purposes.

Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the proper city officials to execute a grant agreement with the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation and accept a grant from the Duluth Legacy Endowment Fund in the amount of $16,734.
The grant will support the work of the Parks and Recreation division, the Parks Maintenance division, and the Planning & Development division for the following purposes:
1. Parks Maintenance division - Water Safety: $4,234, to be used for purchase of new flip down signage on Park Point for rip current awareness and a billboard on I-35.
2. Parks Maintenance division - Rose Garden: $5,000, to be used for purchase of plant material to replace current plantings in the Rose Garden with lower disease and heartier roses.
3. Parks and Recreation division - Recreation Programming: $5,000, to be used for expanded Parks and Recreation division program offerings across the city. One such program, Mobile Recreation, will bring equipment and staff t...
