CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to execute an agreement with TKDA for design and engineering services for the Park Point Beach House Exterior Improvement project as detailed in the attached proposal as Exhibit A, for an amount not to exceed $58,700.00, payable from 205-130-1220-5319-CM205-PKPTBH-BHMISC (Parks Fund-Community Resources-Parks Capital-Other Professional Services- Cap Mtce Fund 205, Park Point Beach House, Rental Income/Improvements)
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an agreement for design, bidding, and construction administration services for the Park Point Beach House Exterior Improvement project for an amount not to exceed $58,700.00.
The exterior walls of the Beach House often endure extreme weather conditions. These conditions, along with deferred maintenance, have allowed water to penetrate the building envelope. There are decayed and saturated sheathing boards, structural framing members, and windows. These conditions have stained the materials, resulting in mildew and possibly mold. Replacing the wall is environmentally and structurally necessary.
