RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,399,086 AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING A SUBRECIPIENT AGREEMENT WITH SOFIDEL AMERICA

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the property city officials are hereby authorized to accept a grant award from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (“DEED”), in the amount of $2,399,086 to be used to support environmental cleanup at the Duluth Paper Mill expansion site, said funds to be deposited in Fund 235 and to execute a grant agreement substantially in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute a subrecipient agreement, substantially in the form attached hereto as Exhibit B, with Sofidel America Corp, in an amount not to exceed $2,399,086.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution accepts the proper city officials to accept the grant award from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development and authorizes the city to enter into a subrecipient grant agreement with Sofidel America in an amount not to exceed $2,399,086 to support environmental remediation of the Duluth Paper Mill expansion site.
