RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF DULUTH AND THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR UTILITIES AND CONSTRUCTION TO BE PERFORMED UPON, ALONG AND ADJACENT TO TRUNK HIGHWAY 23 AT MISSION CREEK WITHIN THE CORPORATE CITY LIMITS UNDER STATE PROJECT 6910-92 AT AN ESTIMATED COST OF $186,745.34.

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute an agreement, substantially in the form of the attached Exhibit C, between the city of Duluth and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) to provide for payment by the city to the state of the city’s share of the costs of utilities and construction to be performed upon, along and adjacent to Trunk Highway 23 at Mission Creek within the corporate city limits under State Project No. 6910-92 at an estimated cost of $186,745.34.  The working fund is Water Fund 510, with the city’s costs for this project payable from the respective utility funds.

 

Estimated construction and engineering costs from funding:

                                          Water Utility Fund 510 - $156,715.02

                                          Sanitary Sewer Fund 530 - $30,030.32

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes an agreement with MnDOT to pay the city’s share of the costs as part of MnDOT’s T.H. 23 improvement project.  This agreement provides for payment of the city’s remaining cost share, to be paid from utility funds.
