CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, substantially in the form attached as Exhibit A, with Evolving Solutions, Inc. for the purchase of hardware, five years of maintenance, and professional services for the successful configuration of an upgraded NetApp storage array into the current network environment for an amount not to exceed One Hundred Ninety-Seven Thousand Four Hundred Ninety-Five Dollars ($197,495.00), payable from Capital Equipment Fund 250; Public Administration Dept. 015; Fiscal Year 2015; Capital Equipment 5580; Project CE250-E1510 Network Storage Replacement.
Statement of Purpose
This resolution authorizes an agreement with Evolving Solutions, Inc. for the purchase of a NetApp FAS8020 Network Storage Array with five years of maintenance and all associated hardware, as well as the professional services to configure, implement, migrate, and upgrade new and existing components for an amount of $197,495.
This storage array will serve as the primary electronic data storage for server operating systems, file storage, databases, applications, and web pages in support of the various electronic systems throughout City operations.
The City standardized on the NetApp storage area network after conducting a request for proposals in 2009. For this upgrade, the purchasing division posted an invitation for bids on the City website on April 26, 2016. In addition, three vendors were solicited directly; however only one bid was received by the due date of May 5, 2016. Evolving Solutions’ bid and proposal are included in the draft agreement attached as Exhibit A.
