RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A COMPLETE BUCKET TRUCK FROM ABM EQUIPMENT & SUPPLY, LLC IN THE AMOUNT OF $197,821.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to contract with ABM Equipment & Supply, LLC for the purchase of a complete bucket truck in the amount of $197,821, payable from 550-120-5580 (Street Lighting Utility, Public Administration, Capital Equipment).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of a 2019 Freightliner chassis, outfitted with a service body, telescopic aerial device and all components, in the amount of $197,821 for use by Traffic Operations.
The new truck will replace unit 8944, which is 11 years old. The industry standard replacement cycle on this unit is 12 years, but the replacement is being made early in order to transfer unit 8944 to Property and Facilities Management, where it will be used in operations that will not involve all-day, every-day use, thereby extending the life of the unit and reducing the need to purchase additional equipment.
Purchasing issued an invitation for bids on February 13, 2018 and received 2 bids. One bid was rejected because the proposed unit failed to meet required specifications. The unit proposed by ABM Equipment & Supply meets the required specifications and is recommended for award.
