CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that contract 22890 with Ever-Green Energy, Inc. for professional engineering services for the Duluth Energy Steam System Conversion Project be amended to include additional professional design and inspection services as detailed in the attached change orders. This increase in scope increases the amount of the contract by $308,115.00, for a new total of $446,572.00, payable from Steam Fund 540, Division 1499, Department 920, Object 5530 (Improvements Other than Buildings), city project no. 1525.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution amends contract 22890 with Ever-Green Energy, Inc. in an estimated amount of $308,115. This amendment is necessary due to the change in scope of the original contract to now include design and construction services necessary to facilitate the conversion of the existing steam system to the hot water system. This work must be completed prior to the start of the 2018 phase of the Superior Street Reconstruction Project. Due to the complicated and specialized nature of the project, City staff requires assistance from Ever-Green Energy, Inc. to perform design and construction inspection services for the Project. Payable out of Steam Fund 540, Division 1499, Department 920, Object 5530 (Improvements Other than Buildings), city project no. 1525, requisition no.16-0758R.
