CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Hanco Utilities, Inc. for the E 1st Street Sanitary Sewer Extension Project in the amount of $91,403, payable out of Sanitary Sewer Fund 530, Department 500 (Public Works & Utilities), Division 1905 (Capital), Object 5535 (Non-Capital Improvements), City project no. 2027.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the award of a contract for a sanitary sewer extension from the existing sanitary sewer in East Superior Street approximately 200 feet northwesterly, within the existing utility easement, to serve the owners at 3112 and 3118 East First Street to Hanco Utilities, Inc. in the amount of $91,403. Hanco Utilities, Inc. was the lowest responsible bidder of the three companies that responded. The engineer’s estimate for construction was $53,000. $53,000 of the project costs will be assessed to the property owners. Although the bids came in over the amount to be assessed, engineering recommends moving forward with the project due to this being the most economical solution and there being no other suitable alternatives to complete the project. The remaining $38,403 will be paid out of the Sanitary Sewer Fund 530, Department 500 (Public Works & Utilities), Division 1905 (Capital), Object 5535 (Non-Capital Improvements), City project no. 2027.
