RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A PERMANENT EASEMENT FOR STREET AND UTILITY PURPOSES FROM GREAT LAKES HOMES LLC OVER, UNDER, AND ACROSS REAL PROPERTY IN THE LINCOLN PARK NEIGHBORHOOD FOR NOMINAL CONSIDERATION.

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to accept, substantially in the form attached as Exhibit 1, from Great Lakes Homes LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company, a perpetual easement for street and utility purposes over, under, and across the real property legally described within the easement attached as Exhibit 1 and depicted on Exhibit A attached to Exhibit 1, at no cost to the City.  

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes the acceptance of a permanent easement for street and utility purposes from Great Lakes Homes LLC (“Great Lakes”) over, under, and across certain property in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, at no cost to the City.  The street and utility easement is needed in connection with an upcoming project for Safe Routes to School on Devonshire Street.

 

The acceptance of this easement will allow the City to construct and maintain a turnaround at the end of Devonshire Street for snow plows and emergency vehicles.  The City will also install storm sewer, a catch basin to grab the runoff from the adjacent slope so it’s not a mud hole, and a sidewalk to connect to the existing trail up on Great Lakes’ property to the Lincoln Park Middle School.
