RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO GRANT CONTRACT AGREEMENT 24658 WITH THE STATE OF MINNESOTA TO EXTEND COMPLETION OF PREDESIGN SERVICES FOR THE RENOVATION OR REPLACEMENT OF THE MAIN BUILDING AT THE LAKE SUPERIOR ZOO.

CITY PROPOSAL:

WHEREAS, resolution 22-0782 authorized the proper City officials to accept $204,000 for expenses directly related to predesign services for the renovation or replacement of the main building at the Lake Superior Zoo; and

WHERAS, the predesign process is underway and additional time is needed to complete this work;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper City Officials are hereby authorized to accept and execute the first amendment, substantially in the form attached as Exhibit 1, with the State of Minnesota for the above referenced predesign development and extension of the term of the agreement to December 31, 2026. 

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the first amendment, substantially in the form of Exhibit 1, to the grant agreement (City contract No. C24658) with the State of Minnesota for the expenses directly related to predesign services for the renovation or replacement of the main building at the Lake Superior Zoo.

This amendment does not change the total funds awarded ($204,000), rather it extends the disbursement requirements and schedule and revises the predesign activities completion schedule from July 2024 to December 31, 2026.

The Predesign package was reviewed and approved by the Minnesota Department of Administration - see Exhibit 2.
