RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH DULUTH SISTER CITIES INTERNATIONAL, INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF $40,000.

CITY PROPOSAL:
WHEREAS; the city council approved $40,000 as an operating subsidy to Sister Cities in resolution 16-0870R passed on December 5, 2016 that appropriated the estimated 2017 hotel-motel and food and beverage tourism taxes.
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, substantially in the form of that attached as Exhibit A, with Duluth Sister Cities International, Inc. (DSCI), in an amount not to exceed $40,000, payable from Tourism Taxes 258, Finance 030, Tourism Tax Allocation 5436, Sister Cities 05.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an agreement with DSCI for 2017 to provide services related to participation in sister city relationships including Sister Cities International, Inc. This agreement is funded by tourism tax collections.
