Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes application to and acceptance of a Minnesota Recreation and Parks Foundation Grant in an amount not to exceed $3981. The funds will be used to purchase curling equipment to conduct curling programming and events in parks. Curling is a sport that involves many barriers to participation including expensive equipment, membership requirements, knowledge, and skill. This grant will lower those barriers by providing free, neighborhood-based curling activities for a wide range of ages and ability levels with no expectation or requirement of prior experience, knowledge, or skill.
