Title

RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE EXISTING CIVIL SERVICE CLASSIFICATION OF SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR.

Body

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proposed amendments to the specifications for the existing civil service classification of systems administrator, which were approved by the civil service board on May 3, 2016, are approved.  This classification shall remain subject to the city’s collective bargaining agreement with its basic unit employees and compensated at Pay Range 137, $5,029 to $5,951 per month.

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This existing classification was revised to reflect new software verbiage and eliminating obsolete systems.  The education and experience requirements were also dropped from five years to three years of experience.  This position has historically been difficult to recruit for and by dropping the years of experience it should broaden the recruitment pool and encourage a more diverse selection process.  There is no change in the rate of pay, which is Range137, $5,029 to $5,951 per month.
