Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a sole source service agreement, substantially in the form attached as Exhibit A, for repair services for the Rex traveling water screen for an amount not to exceed $47,490.
Evoqua is the original equipment manufacturer and sole provider of original parts for our traveling water screen, which was purchased in 1966 and is a critical part of our water system. Evoqua will mobilize a factory-trained traveling water screen service/commercial dive crew to the Lakewood Water Treatment Plant, who will perform an onsite rebuild with parts installation, adjustments and preventive maintenance for the water screen they originally supplied. The submerged traveling screen will require most of the work be performed under water.
City staff were unable to locate another company with the water diving capabilities and the experience to rebuild, adjust and perform maintenance on this unique piece of equipment.
