CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to contract with MacQueen Emergency Group for the purchase of a 2029 Pierce 107ft aerial tower fire truck in an amount not to exceed $2,129,000.00, payable from 250-015-2025-5580; CE250-NB2501 (Capital Equipment, Public Administration, Fiscal Year 2025, Capital Equipment; Non-Bonded).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of a 2029 Pierce 107ft Quint heavy duty aerial fire truck to replace Truck 222.
Ladder 222 unit 7369, a 2013 KME Quint has currently accumulated maintenance and repair costs over 50% of the original purchase price. Lead time is approximately 52 months from order date which will have 7369 16 years in service at the time of replacement. Both age and maintenance cost coupled with increasing inflation costs make this truck ideal for replacement.
This purchase is made through the Cooperative Purchasing Agreement with the Houston-Galveston Area Council (HGAC) Consortium, which was approved by City Council on August 13, 2018 under resolution 18-0587R.
