Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes the purchase of a consolidated solution for police body cameras, vehicle cameras and interview room cameras from AXON Enterprises, including equipment, software, storage, maintenance and support for a five-year period for an amount not to exceed $773,265.75.

The City has utilized body camera technology from AXON Enterprises (formerly Taser) and had separate disparate systems for police vehicle and interview room technology.  Implementing this consolidated solution will standardize all police captured video evidence onto a single platform improving the management and efficiency of evidence gathering, allowing the use of new technology features, as well as reducing overall costs over the five-year period.
