RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT L30939 WITH ZENITH TRAIL CONTRACTING LLC FOR ADDITIONAL TRAIL WORK ON THE BLACK DOWNHILL JUMP LINE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT AT SPIRIT MOUNTAIN RECREATION AREA, INCREASING THE CONTRACT BY $110,279.71 TO A NEW TOTAL NOT TO EXCEED $303,038.71.

Body

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute an amendment to agreement L30939 with Zenith Trail Contracting LLC for additional trail work on the Black Downhill Jump Line Construction project at Spirit Mountain Recreation Area, payable from 450-030-5530-HANDHTAX-1506 (Tourism & Recreational Projects, Finance, Improvements Other than Buildings, Half & Half Tax Projects, Nordic - Lower Spirit).

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an amendment to agreement L30939 with Zenith Trail Contracting LLC for additional trail work on the Black Downhill Jump Line Construction project at Spirit Mountain Recreation Area for an increase of $110,279.71 and a new total amount not to exceed $303,038.71.

The original project involves construction of a new downhill mountain bike jump trail at the Spirit Mountain Recreation Area, funded by a State of Minnesota Legacy Parks and Trails grant.

The additional scope is required due to hidden conditions encountered during construction and necessary realignments resulting from wet site conditions and changes caused by the major storm events in 2023 and 2024.
