CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to contract with Dirt Inc. for green infrastructure improvements at Piedmont Park for a total amount not to exceed $168,401.25, payable from fund 452-030-5530-HANDHTAX-1527-12 (tourism and recreational projects; finance; improvements other than buildings; half and half tax projects; neighborhood parks, Piedmont).

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes a contract with Dirt Inc. for green infrastructure and accessibility improvements at Piedmont Park for an amount not to exceed $168,401.25.

 

Contractor will implement stormwater best management practices (BMPs) at the Piedmont Recreation Area in the Miller Creek watershed, create an accessible pathway between the park features, and remove invasive plants from 9.9 acres of non-developed park space.

 

Purchasing issued an Invitation to Bid on June 18, 2020, and received five bids as listed below.  Dirt Inc. submitted the lowest responsive bid.

It is anticipated that 100% of the cost of the project will be paid with a State of Minnesota Clean Water Fund grant and a National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration Coastal Program grant. Half and half tourism tax funds assigned to the Piedmont site are available as a contingency but will likely not be necessary.
