CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proposed amendments to the specifications for the existing civil service classification of assistant city clerk, including a title change to deputy city clerk (attached as Exhibit B), which were approved by the civil service board on October 7, 2025, are approved. This classification shall remain subject to the city's collective bargaining agreement with its supervisory unit employees; and that pay class for said classification shall change to Class 20, pay rate of $78,131 to $102,813 per year, from Class 10, pay rate of $72,371 to $95,235 per year.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The existing classification of assistant city clerk has been revised (including a title change to deputy city clerk) to reflect current duties of the position since they have evolved over time and to incorporate standard language that is included in all job descriptions based on level of responsibility. The pay class negotiated for this classification is Class 20, pay rate of $78,131 to $102,813 per year. This is a change from Class 10, pay rate of $72,371 to $95,235 per year.
