CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to increase the annual contract for the purchase of OEM parts, supplies and labor in 2026 from Boyer Trucks-Superior by $20,000.00 for a new amount not to exceed $85,000 payable as follows:
$69,000.00 660-015-5221-01 (Fleet Services, Public Administration, equipment repair supplies standard)
$8,000.00 660-015-5221-02 (Fleet Services, Public Administration, equipment repair supplies subset)
$8,000.00 660-015-5404 (Fleet Services, Public Administration, equipment/machinery repair & mtc)
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an annual purchase order for 2026 of OEM parts, supplies, and labor to maintain City of Duluth Freightliner and Western Star trucks such as snowplow trucks, tandem axle dump trucks and medium-duty service body trucks.
Freightliner and Western Star OEM parts are used because they are reliable, ensure proper fit and compatibility, and keep us within warranty specifications. Boyer Trucks is the Duluth area dealer for Freightliner and Western Star truck equipment and parts.
We have seen a greater need for Freightliner/Western Star parts and supplies this year; the annual PO with Ascendance Trucks Central will be lowered by $20,000.00 to cover this increase, as we have not needed as much International truck parts and supplies.
