CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with JMF Construction, Inc. for the 2023 Citywide Patch and Sidewalk project in the amount of $151,558.50, payable from Permanent Improvement Fund 411, Department 035 (Capital Projects Accounts), Object 5530 (Improvements Other than Buildings), of which $22,985.00 will be assessed to benefitting properties, city project no. 2078.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution will authorize the 2023 Citywide Patch and Sidewalk project by JMF Construction, Inc. in the amount of $151,558.50, payable from Permanent Improvement Fund 411, Department 035 (Capital Projects Accounts), Object 5530 (Improvements Other than Buildings), of which $22,985.00 will be assessed to benefitting properties, city project no. 2078, requisition no. 23-99455. The project includes bid items used when residents request repair of their sidewalks. Work also includes repair of Seven Bridges Road pilasters, handrail, fencing, sidewalk replacement, sidewalk improvements for individual owners within city rights-of-way, adjustment of existing electrical hand holes, and curb ramp work. JMF Construction, Inc. was the lowest responsible bidder of the four companies that responded. The engineer’s estimate was $106,259.50, we don’t expect a reduction if rebid. The larger cost is due to increase in material costs.
