CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Hanco Utilities for construction of the 2026 Gas Excess Flow Valve, Riser Replacement, Meter Relocation and Bollard Installations Project at Various Locations in the amount of $594,873.23, payable out of Gas Utility Fund 520, Department/Agency 500 (Public Works & Utilities), Division 1905 (Capital Improvements), Object 5533 (Revenue), city project no. 2370
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution will authorize the installation of Excess Flow Valves (EFV’s) on existing gas services, replacement of copper risers, installation of bollards, and minor gas meter relocations throughout the City of Duluth during the 2026 construction season by K&H Excavating Inc in the amount of $594,873.23, payable out of Gas Utility Fund 520, Department/Agency 500 (Public Works & Utilities), Division 1905 (Capital Improvements), Object 5533 (Revenue), city project no. 2370, requisition no. 26-9900068. K&H was the lowest responsible bidder. The engineer’s estimate was $499,225.00, and we do not anticipate getting lower bids is we were to readvertise.
