RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE AND EXECUTION OF A HOST SITE AGREEMENT FOR THE SUMMER OF 2026 WITH TRUE NORTH AMERICORPS FOR PLACEMENT AT THE DULUTH PUBLIC LIBRARY AT NO COST TO THE CITY.

 

Body

CITY PROPOSAL:

WHEREAS, the True North AmeriCorps partners with schools, nonprofits, and community agencies to enhance long term education equity outcomes; and

                     WHEREAS, the city applied for a grant to host True North AmeriCorps members at the Duluth public library for the summer of 2026 True North AmeriCorps’ program period; and

                     WHEREAS, the True North AmeriCorps will assign an AmeriCorps member to the Duluth public library for the purpose of enhancing students' social emotional learning skills through individualized support and academic enrichment; and

                     WHEREAS, True North AmeriCorps requires written acceptance via a host site agreement that identifies the terms, conditions, roles and responsibilities of the parties.

                     RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to enter into an agreement substantially in the form of that attached hereto as Exhibit A, with True North AmeriCorps.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes the acceptance of an agreement with True North AmeriCorps for the purpose of hosting one AmeriCorps member at the Duluth public library for the summer of 2026 program period. There, the AmeriCorps members will enhance students' social emotional learning skills through individualized support and academic enrichment. Specific responsibilities will include support for summer programs and summer reading. There is no cost to the city.
