CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to contract with Motorola Solutions for the purchase of 24 mobile radios for the Information Technology (IT) Division’s life cycle projects in the amount of $151,390.08, payable from 250-015-2022-5580, ce250-e2201 (capital equipment, public administration, fiscal year 2022, capital equipment; life cycle projects- IT).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of 24 mobile radios from Motorola Solutions for use in vehicles by public safety staff. Police and Fire Departments will utilize these replacements for radios that are no longer supported or repairable upon failure as part of a multi-year replacement plan. This purchase includes essential accessories such as speaker/microphones, encryption, and Wi-Fi connectivity, and allows connectivity to the Allied Radio Matrix for Emergency Response (ARMER), Minnesota’s primary two-way public safety radio system.
