Title

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A THREE-YEAR LEASE AGREEMENT WITH THE STEWARDSHIP NETWORK FOR THE USE OF SPACE AT CITY HALL.

Body

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute a three-year lease agreement, substantially the same as the agreement attached as Exhibit 1, with The Stewardship Network, for the use of space at City Hall.

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a three-year lease agreement with The Stewardship Network for exclusive use of one work station in the parks and recreation office in City Hall for their Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area Coordinator (“Coordinator”). The Stewardship Network is working together with the city, and other local partners to create a South St. Louis County Cooperative Weed Management Area whose purpose is to develop and implement a multi-agency invasive weed management strategy focused substantially on the St. Louis River Estuary. The Coordinator of the program is expected to substantially strengthen and complement ongoing city efforts to manage invasive species. In consideration of the value of this service to the city, the city will lease the desk space to The Stewardship Network at no cost. The city previously stated its support of the envisioned South St. Louis County Cooperative Weed Management Area and the establishment of the Coordinator position via Resolution No. 16-0701.
