AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING 230 EAST FOURTH STREET AS A DULUTH HERITAGE PRESERVATION LANDMARK.

CITY PROPOSAL:

 

                     Section 1. Under the authority of Section 50-37.8 of the Duluth Legislative Code, 1959, as amended, the city of Duluth does designate 230 East Fourth Street as a Duluth heritage preservation landmark, as documented in Attachment 1;

Section 2. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force 30 days from and after its passage and publication.

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This ordinance designates 230 East Fourth Street as a Duluth heritage preservation landmark. On February 13, 2023, the Duluth heritage preservation commission (hpc) voted 4 yeas, 0 nays, and 2 abstentions to recommend the landmark designation. Preceding this action was a public hearing held by the hpc on January 9, 2023, and a recommendation to proceed by the planning commission on January 10, 2023.
