Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes application to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for a Regional Trail Program grant of up to $300,000 to rehabilitate snowmobile trail infrastructure in the Spirit Mountain Area. The scope of work includes new abutments for a bridge over Knowlton Creek and reconstruction of previously abandoned trails including ditching, regrading, and culvert replacement. The City applied for a Federal Recreational Trail Program grant in February with the intention that the state and federal grants would match each other so as to avoid the necessity for a City financial contribution.
