Body

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to amend agreement L30637 with Kraus Anderson Construction for Construction Manager as Agent services for the Spirit Mountain chair lift installation, as part of the overall Spirit Mountain Infrastructure Renewal project as identified in the attached Exhibit A, and to increase the amount by $156,772.00 for a new total not to exceed $181,772.00, payable from fund 437-030-5520 (Spirit Mtn Capital Improvement, Finance, Building & Structures).

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes an amendment to agreement L30637 with Kraus Anderson Construction for an increase of $156,772.00, to a new total not to exceed $181,772.00.

This amendment will increase the scope of work provided by Kraus Anderson to now include the Construction Management as Agent services for the replacement of two aerial chair lifts at Spirit Mountain with one new lift. Project includes removal of the existing lift equipment and structures, site engineering, manufacture and install of new aerial ski lift equipment and structures, all electrical work needed to operate the lift system, and commissioning of lift.

The project is part of the $26 million Spirit Mountain Infrastructure Renewal Project funded in part by a $13 million appropriation from the State of Minnesota General Fund. The total cost of the lift replacement project is anticipated to be approximately $4 million, previously approved under Resolution 25-0081R. The remaining $22 million will be prioritized for renovation of the upper Spirit Mountain chalet.
