CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are authorized to contract with Hovland, Inc. for the 2026 Citywide Patch and Sidewalk project in the amount of $371,774.52, payable from fund 411-035-5530; PI2026-2311 (permanent improvement; Capital Projects Accounts; improvements other than buildings).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution will authorize a contract with Hovland, Inc. for the 2026 Citywide Patch and Sidewalk project in the amount of $371,774.52.
Work includes repairing street pavement needing restoration due to utility work performed by the city, sidewalk construction in Priority Areas or near school locations, sidewalk improvements for individual owners within city rights-of-way by assessment, adjustment of existing electrical hand holes, hand railing and curb ramp work.
On March 9, 2026, the Purchasing division issued a solicitation for this project. Hovland, Inc. was the lowest responsible bidder of the three companies that responded. The engineer’s estimate was $438,286.00.
