CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to purchase cold mix asphalt from Monarch Paving Company to be used by Public Works and Utilities for 2025 for an estimated amount of $60,000.00 payable from the following funds.
$42,000.00 510-500-1945-5222 (water; Public Works and Utilities; utility operations; blacktop).
$3,000.00 520-500-1945-5222 (gas; Public Works and Utilities; utility operations; blacktop).
$9,000.00 530-500-1945-5222 (sewer; Public Works and Utilities; utility operations; blacktop).
$6,000.00 535-500-1945-5222 (stormwater; Public Works and Utilities; utility operations; blacktop).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a purchase of cold mix asphalt from Monarch Paving Company to be used by Public Works and Utilities for an estimated amount of $60,000.00.
This asphalt will be used to repair utility breaks in the colder months when the City cannot use hot mix asphalt.
The Purchasing division issued a request for quotes on January 17, 2025 and Monarch Paving was the only responsive bidder with a quoted price of $111.50 per ton.
