RESOLVED, that the proper DEDA officials are hereby authorized to execute a development agreement with Damiano of Duluth, Inc (“Developer”), substantially in the form of that attached as Exhibit A, for development of an emergency shelter for people experiencing homelessness.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution approves a development agreement with Damiano of Duluth, Inc, LLC, for the construction of an emergency shelter facility to serve people experiencing homelessness. Damiano of Duluth, Inc is undertaking this project to help the community prepare for a major expansion of the CHUM shelter facility. When CHUM begins their work in spring of 2025, current CHUM residents will move into the Damiano shelter facility for the duration of construction at CHUM.
This agreement provides for the construction of a 120-bed shelter facility on the third floor of the Damiano Center. Construction is expected to be completed by April 25, 2025.
