Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a purchase of eBooks, audiobooks, online magazines and video titles from OverDrive, Inc., for the amount of $60,000.00

The purchase will be paid for from the unspent remainder of a one-time 2024 Council appropriation of $200,000 for the specific purpose of purchasing library materials. The $200,000 appropriation was sourced from the sale of the Cirrus Incubator Building. In order to maximize the public benefit of this appropriation, the library opted not to spend the entirety of the one-time appropriation in 2024. This resolution authorizes expenditure of the remainder of the appropriated funds for their specific Council-intended purpose in 2025.
