RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE EXISTING CIVIL SERVICE CLASSIFICATION OF DEPUTY FIRE MARSHAL.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proposed amendments to the specifications for the existing civil service classification of deputy fire marshal (attached as Exhibit B), which were approved by the civil service board on July 23, 2026, are approved. This classification shall remain subject to the city's collective bargaining agreement with its fire unit employees; and that pay range for said classification shall remain Range 230, pay rate of $7,966 to $8,372 per month.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The existing classification of deputy fire marshal was revised to include two years serving as a Fire Inspector as an alternate option to meet the minimum requirements for this position. There is no change in the pay range, which is Range 230, pay rate of $7,966 to $8,372 per month.
