Body

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the city council hereby allocates $75,000 in 2026 tourism tax funds to assist in funding a facilities conditions assessment (FCA) at the DECC.  In addition, the city council hereby authorizes the request of $75,000 in grant funding from St. Louis County (SLC) for the FCA.   Upon receipt of funds from SLC, the council authorizes the City to enter into a contract with the DECC for the $150,000 in combined funding for the FCA.

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The City allocated $240,000 of 2026 tourism tax funds for Tourism Asset Maintenance and Preservation.   The City has the opportunity to leverage $75,000 of these funds to match a $75,000 grant from St. Louis County to fund a facilities conditions assessment evaluation at the DECC.   The assessment will identify immediate repair needs at the DECC and will also establish a roadmap for future maintenance and improvements.
