RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO ACCEPT AN AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE AND DEPARTMENT OF TREASURY TO ACCESS FUNDS UNDER THE FEDERAL EQUITABLE SHARING PROGRAM SUPPORTING OPERATIONS OF THE LAKE SUPERIOR DRUG & VIOLENT CRIME TASK FORCE.

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to accept monies and/or property from the United States department of justice and the United States department of treasury under the federal equitable sharing program, and to execute an equitable sharing agreement substantially the same as the attached Exhibit A for the purpose of supporting the operations of the Lake Superior drug & violent crime task force, funds to be deposited in Fund Number 215-200-2261-4471 (Duluth Police Grant Programs, Police, LSD/VCTF-Federal Forfeitures, Police Felony Forfeitures).

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution allows the City to accept funds for the Duluth Police Department/Lake Superior Drug & Violent Crime Task Force generated as a result of forfeited monies and/or property. Any disbursement to the City under the agreement will be variable and dependent upon the level of participation of the Lake Superior Drug & Violent Crime Task Force in related criminal proceedings.
