CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to accept a grant award from the Minnesota department of public safety in the total amount of $125,000 and to execute a grant agreement substantially the same as Attachment A for the purpose of funding one sex trafficking investigator for two years.
Funds to be deposited in Fund # 215-200-2215-4220-02 (Duluth Police Grant Program, Police, Sex Trafficking Grant Program, State of Minnesota Operating) and expenses to be paid from Fund # 215-200-2215-5700-10 (Duluth Police Grant Programs, Police, Sex Trafficking Grant Program, Interfund Transfers Out to General Fund).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the proper city officials to accept a grant from the Minnesota Department of Public Safety in the amount of $125,000. This is a two year grant. The grant funding will be applied to the salary/fringe of a Sex Trafficking Investigator. These pass-through federal funds have been made available to investigate, apprehend, and prosecute sex traffickers.
