CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to contract with Armour Valve Inc. for the purchase of pre-insulated pipe, fittings, valves and accessories in the amount of $319,265.10, payable from 540-920-1499-5530 (steam, steam department, steam non-operating, improvements other than buildings).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of pre-insulated pipe, fittings, valves and accessories for the 1st Avenue East reconstruction project.
This type of pipe is manufactured specifically for District hot water heating systems. The city was able to take advantage of its tax-exempt status by purchasing the materials directly.
Purchasing issued an invitation to bid on January 11, 2023, and received two bids as listed below. Armour Valve Inc. submitted the lowest responsive bid.
