CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to contract with A Plus Contractors for the Spirit Mountain Snowmobile Trails project for a total amount not to exceed $179,825.00, payable from fund 452-030-5530-HANDHTAX-1506 (tourism & recreational projects, finance, improvements other than buildings, half & half tax projects, Nordic - Lower Spirit).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a contract with A Plus Contractors for the Spirit Mountain Snowmobile Trails project for an amount not to exceed $179,825.00.
The project is funded entirely by contributed funds. There is no cost to the City of Duluth.
This project will build four segments of snowmobile trail around the Spirit Mountain Recreation Area, providing a connection from the upper chalet down to the lower chalet, as well as an underpass below Grand Avenue and across Knowlton Creek.
The scope of work involves excavation and grading, installing culverts and retaining walls, constructing a bridge crossing, placing navigational signs along the trail, and seeding the affected area.
Purchasing issued an Invitation to Bid on January 6th, 2024 and received six bids as listed below. A Plus Contractors submitted the lowest responsive bid. The contract amount to be awarded will not include a line item for wire fencing.
