CITY PROPOSAL:

 

                     RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to increase contract 23238 with Dirt, Inc. for additional equestrian trail construction work at Magney-Snively Natural Area, for an additional amount of $58,948.02 and a total not to exceed $196,558.02, payable from fund 452-030-5530; HANDHTAX-1524 (Tourism & Recreation Projects, Finance, Improvements Other than Buildings; Half & Half Tax Projects Equestrian Trails).

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes an increase to contract 23238 with Dirt, Inc. to complete improvement of the Ely Peak loop trail in Magney- Snively Natural Area to support environmentally sustainable equestrian use for an additional amount of $58,948.03 for a total amount not to exceed $196,558.02. Unusually wet weather conditions last year revealed the need for additional improvements to make equestrian use of the trail environmentally sustainable. The Ely Peak loop equestrian trail project was developed by a diverse stakeholder group of recreational users, environmental advocates, and neighborhood residents. City Council Resolution 15-0763R called for the city to undertake the project.
