CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to enter into a grant agreement with Senior Service America, Inc. (“SSAI”), substantially in the form of Exhibit A, and accept a grant in the amount of $75,248, said funds to be deposited into Senior Program Fund 270, Grants Division Agency 031, SCSEP SSAI Federal Organization 6330, for the purpose of proving community service employment opportunities to older adults, with matching funds in the amount of $9,700 to be provided through in-kind contributions of local agencies and city supervisory time and/or indirect costs.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The purpose of this resolution is to authorize the city of Duluth, workforce development department, to accept a grant in the amount of $75,248 from Senior Service America, Inc., to provide community service employment opportunities to older adults. The city has operated the senior community service employment program since 1977. This grant is a renewal of previous grants. This grant requires a local match in the amount of $9,700 which will be provided through in-kind contributions of local agencies and city supervisory time and/or indirect costs. The grant period is July 1, 2020, to October 31, 2020.
