CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to purchase a loader mounted snow blower from MacQueen Equipment, Inc in the amount of $264,046.00, pricing on MN State Contract 211082, Release S-854(5), payable from fund 250-015-2024-5580; CE250-V2405 (capital equipment, Public Administration, fiscal year - 2024, capital equipment; capital equipment fund 250, street maintenance vehicles and equipment).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of a 2024 Larue D60 loader mounted snow blower from MacQueen Equipment, Inc for an amount of $264,046.00, pricing on MN State Contract 211082, release S-854(5).
The City of Duluth maintains 532 centerline miles of road, in order to keep this infrastructure clear during the winter season we need to remove the already plowed snow from boulevards to create room for additional snowfall. This unit allows us to remove snow at a more efficient pace and will aid in allowing room for emergency service vehicles to traverse our City’s infrastructure. This purchase would be replacing a 1997 model that is over 25 years old and is 14 years past its life cycle.
